Problems installing i-tunes

I am having difficulty installing iTunes. When I attempt to install I get the
following messages and the installation fails:-

Error 1406: Could not write value to key\Software\Classes\.cdda\open with
list\iTunes.exe Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or
contact your support personnel.

Error 1402: Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\\.cdda\OpenWithProdigs. Verify that you
have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Error:- 1603 Fatal error during installation. Consult Windows installer help
(Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.

I have found the "HKEY_LOCAL...................................Prodigs" file
but could not do anything with it. I am attampting to install on my own PC (
windows XP) and do not know who my "support personnel" are!

Can anyone help?

Bob,

Do you have the latest version of iTunes? I don't have issues with the
latest version. It does do weird things to Aero though until in QuickTime I
put it in Safe Mode (GDI Only), and I don't see any issues now.

have you tried right clicking on the icon for the I-tunes installer and
selecting 'run as administrator' ? This should make sure that the installer
has admin permissions

Thanks for the tip Bones - Unfortunately I didn't get a "Run as
administrator" option so I ran as current user. It didn't work. I just got
the same error message!
