I was having so many problems after installing Service Pack 3 that I restored
my computer to an earlier date. But the problem with my device driver is
still hapenning, "Attention 23K/0HZ frequency out of range". I've used the
update wizard and fould 1 update for the "Plug and Play Monitor Properties".
I also tryed to adjust the harware accelerator and the screen refresh rate
(to the next lowest rate..it is set at 60 Hertz) but this did not help.
Do I need to try a driver update from the Misrosoft Cataloge if so which
one?
Also I'm now getting these new error messages on the Advanced systems
error
log:

Wed, Sept 17, 2008 Service Control Manager Timeout (30000 milliseconds)
waiting for the AVG8 E-mail Scanner service to connect.
Wed, Sept 17, 2008 Service Control Manager The AVG8 E-mail Scanner service
failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to
the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Wed, Sept 17, 2008 DCOM The server {0002DF01-0000-0000-C000-00000 0000046}
did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

I have:
Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, Ver 2002, Service pack 2
Computer: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000 + 1.66GHZ, 256MB of RAM
System Model: 7VKMP , System Type: X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 0 AuthenticAMD ~1662 Mhz
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 07.00T, 8/30/2002
SMBIOS Version 2.3
Total Physical Memory: 256.00 MB, Available Physical Memory 35.51 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB, Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB

This computer didn't show any signs of a problem until I installed that
service pack. Now it's running slower, it's hard to start up because of the
"Frequency out of Range" Error. I've run Disk Clean Up, Disk Defragmenter,
multiple virus scans, etc....
I'm verry frustrated and I'm not sure what else I can do...can anyone PLEASE
help?

Thank you so much.

Probably not a wise choice. Did you consider uninstalling WinXP SP3 via
Add/Remove Programs? (Probably too late now.)

WinXP SP3 - Read all prerequisites for a successful installation
http://msmvps.com/blogs/harrywaldro...requisites-for-a-successful-installation.aspx

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for
Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and
e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=1173 | select "Windows
XP" then select "Windows XP Service Pack 3"
