Problems Accessing Windows XP Home

John

I have Windows 2000 Professional set-up to log onto a
domain server, and am trying to connect to a Windows XP
Home computer with crossover cable. I get "logon server
not available" and can't see the XP machine. Does anyone
know how to get around this without switching the 2000
machine from domain login to workgroup login?

Thanks in advance

Make sure the XP Home is in the same workgroup as your domain. Enable
Netbios over TCP/IP, make sure File and printersharing is installed and
create an useraccount on the XP that is the same with the same password as
the one you're using on your W2K.
