problem writing a new thread with Internet Explorer

I do not know what has happened but I cannot write a tread with Internet
Explorer, I have to open Firefox to do it. When I tell it I want to ask a
question it looks like it is going to a write page, but it just goes back to
the page I was viewing. What did I do, and how do I get it back to normal?

I did try I was at the page that shows all the newsgroups. It show Internet
Explorer. I click on it and I get this page
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/dgbrowser/en-us/default.mspx. There is
this Read, post, and participate in the Internet Explorer community at
Internet Explorer Newsgroups. The Internet Explorer Newsgroup is a link. I
follow it and get
We’re sorry, but we were unable to service your request. You may wish to
choose from the links below for information about Microsoft products and
services.

I do not know where to go to find it I followed the links as it says then it
says it is not there.

I am still having to use Firefox to write this because I cannot get Explorer
to do it.

You don't need to use Microsoft's webpage AT ALL. I don't, and neither do most
of the MVP's and other regulars.

Instead, use a newsreader such as Outlook Express, or Agent, or any of the
numerous other NNTP newsreaders. Set the News server to msnews.microsoft.com
and subscribe to the groups that you want to follow.

Thank you, for your help. I always used Outlook Express for Newsgroups
while I was using a dialup connection. When I changed to a DSL connection I
did not know how to setup the account to us it again. I am now writing this
from Outlook Express.

Well, I'm not an OE expert at all - I use Agent - but if you go to the top
folder of the heirarchy in OE6 (the one just labeled Outlook Express) one of
the options on the menu is Read Newsgroups. You'll need to (and will be asked
to) use Tools... Accounts to create a new News account; the Microsoft
newsgroups are hosted at msnews.microsoft.com, no logon or password or payment
required.
