Problem with XP shutting down when on the internet

I can get on the internet, however, whenever I go to a
site that requires interaction I get the
message "Application is exiting" and then the computer
shuts down.I don't know if this is an Internet Explorer
problem or an XP problem. Either way, I need HELP!!!

I mean typing in your name somewhere or address. Setting
up a new email account, etc.
