Problem with USB 2.0 ports on A7V333

Lance

I have a USB 2.0 flash disk key. When I plug it into one of my 4 USB 2.0
ports on my A7V333 motherboard, I get the following message:

"High speed USB device plugged into non-high-speed USB hub"

When I look into Device Manager I see in the section for USB controllers a
USB 2.0 Root Hub Device and a VIA USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller. Both
controllers are enabled and working normally. The jumper on the motherboard
for USB 2.0 devices is enabled. The BIOS is set to detect USB devices. I
know the flash key is definitely USB 2.0 because it transfers at high-speed
on my work computer. I am running Windows XP Professional with SP1, bios rev
1014. I've downloaded the most recent USB 2.0 driver from VIA's website and
installed it but doesn't fix the problem.

If anyone can help to resolve this problem it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried all the ports? You probably know this but the ports just
below the keyboard and mouse ports are USB 1.1 .

Not sure if this is your problem or not but for me it was the front USB
port on my Antec SX-1040BII case. Called Antec tech support and they
sent me a new front USB part($0.00) that fixed it.

Good luck,
Ed

I've had the same problem. I removed all references to the USB ports
from the Device Manager, re-booted to allow XP to find and reinstall
the drivers and all worked fine.

Hope this helps!
