Problem with TOO many Scanners installed

L

Larry H.

I have Win XP Home running with Microsoft PhotoDraw 2.0
installed, and a HP ScanJet 3400 C scanner also
installed.

When I go into Photodraw and try to scan, the options
that I have are of 3 different scanners. The ONLY one
that I have is the HP ScanJet.

I have looked in the device driver area and there is only
1 scanner listed. I have also looked in the Registry of
installed programs where there is only one installed. I
have uninstalled the software for the scannner and
PhotoDraw, disconnected the scanner and then plugged it
back in. I continue to get the 3 scanners listed.

Is there any way to find out where these other scanner
ID's are coming from so that I can eliminate them??? Are
they possibly hiding somewhere in the registry. ???

If so, please advise....
Thanks in advance,
Larry H.

Hi richard,

The other scanners are simply called "Scanner", nothing
else. The one that I want has the correct name such as
HP ScanJet 3400C LTX.

thanks,
Larry H.

The reason I was asking is that I have 3 scanners detected also, all legit.
One is Intel USB Video Camera. Another is WIA Intel PC Camera Pro. The third
is my Canon scanner.

Sounds like a glitch in Photodraw. I'd ignore the other scanners if all
else is ok and maybe search the KB for possible resolution or search M$
for possible updates for the app.
