Problem with shutting down XP Home

Hi,
My XPHome SP2 computer refuses to properly shut down. It hangs with the
mouse pointer freezing on the Shutting Down message. I've looked in the MS
KB and tried a few things, but none works.

Any ideas welcome.
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for the link.
By a process of elimination, I've discovered the culprit is a Belkin USB2 4
port hub. The computer shuts down perfectly when I took it out the system.
I did notice that when the hub was installing, Windows gave it a
non-certified driver. No Belkin driver was supplied - I think they all are
described as Plug and Play devices.

Anybody want a hub? As new condition, with power supply? LOL!!

Strangely, I've another Belkin hub on my other machine and it's no problem!

Regards,
Steve
