problem with sbc yahoo dsl on xp

I bought that dsl thing a while ago. yesterday i wanted
to turn off the built in firewall thats in xp. i looked
in network connections, and there wasnt any connections
listed under it. I tried to create a new one, and thats
when my connection went down. It says cant connect to
sbc yahoo network, something about port 769. called up
the dsl company, tried some stuff that didnt work,
finally used system restore to get it back to an earlier
status. today when i went into internet options, under
the connection tab, i clicked on the dsl connection
properties, and went into advanced options under that,
and changed a setting which says discon. after call has
been idle for 20 mins, and pressed ok, and connection
went down again so i had to restore again. any help
would be appreciated

Just curious, I'm having same problem who is your ISP
mine is (choice one). I think it is the ISP using a proxy
cache and therefore improperly validating the files.
