Problem with saving an image to my pictures

Hopefully someone will be able to help
Have had the same pc for a few years - until recently am unable to save an
image from websites to my pictures. When it gives the option to save as type
I only have the choice of saving by Art or Bitmap ? - I am pretty novicy at
this stuff but have tried everywhere possible to rectify and can't - does
anyone have any suggestions how i can get it back to the way it was ?
