I currently have about 30 pc's running wixxp that connect through 3 dell switches to a Win 2000 Server. I have a Linksys Cable/DSL Router connected to the switches also. All PC's including the router have static IP's. I have had this setup for at least a year with no problems. With-in the last couple of weeks I have started having trouble with the pc's that access the Internet through the router. It seems that the Internet will work fine on the computer and then just stop working. The computers are still able to access info from the server fine (we have a sql database on the server that we access for our medical software). This problem does not always seem to affect everyone and certianly not at the same time. Once I restart that computer, it is usually able to get back on the Internet. Can someone help me to figure out what the problem is?

You may have to list the external DNS address on each
client computer. You can get the DNS address by going
into the status page on the linksys router.

What would have caused it to start messing up though? I already have the DNS address of our ISP at the primary DNS address spot. Is that what you are saying?

Try updating the firmware on the router and see if that
helps.

If you are logging on to a 2000 domain, your DNS must be pointing to your
own DNS server that is hosting your AD namespace.
