Internet / Comms / router problem??

Hi,

I have the following problem with my PC regarding my internet connection and
I have tried several ways to get round this problem with no success.

What I have setup is:

PC with XP
Network card
Router – connecting to internet

I have also tried connecting the PC to router with USB but the same problem
occurs, and I have ruled out the router being the problem as I have tried
three routers all of which work fine on other machines

The problem is after several minutes online Internet explorer will start
showing “page cannot be found†message, to resolve the problem the computer
must be restarted, I then used command line to PING the router and this
worked fine so I went back online and the same problem occurred so I PINGED
the router again and no packets where received, I assume the problem is
within the PC regarding comms setup??

Please help

Thanks

Router or "Broadband" modem? More details would be use like make/
model of router and addtional hardware that you have to connect to the
Internet. Normally, a "standard" router can not connect to the
Internet unless it has a DSL / cable modem moducle built-in.

Have you scanned your PC for any possible "virus" or "spyware"
infestations. The "symtoms" you describe can be caused by some types
of viruses / spywares.
