Problem with power up

I have an XP Pro OS. When I power up on my laptop, neither the start button nor the icons come up on the display. I only have limited control through the task manager (ctrl-alt-delete).

How can I fix this problem?

Please repost your question in a Windows XP newsgroup. This group is for the
database software Microsoft Access. The webpage can be confusing and has
probably misled you - scroll down the list of subjects and find a group for
Windows.

Indicate what service packs and updates you have installed - they may make a
difference. You can find out using Windows Update and looking at the History.
