Problem with only SOME .chm help files ("Page could not be display

On my stationary PC some .chm files work, others will not. According to
article 892675 I ran this:

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\HHRestrictions]
"MaxAllowedZone"=dword:00000001

No change!

In HTML Help Workshop I decompiled one that didn't work. All of the
individual .html-pages display properly.

Compiling back again to .chm still resulted in the "Page could not be
displayed".

This is really strange, also as all .chm files will work on my laptop! Both
machines run XP with SP2, I should mention.

Found the solution in blog:
http://www.nik.com.au/archives/2005/04/06/chm-help-files-error-the-page-cannot-be-displayed/

After some fiddling around and searching online to no avail (Microsoft
identified the problem but offered no solution) I found out that the reason
for the problem was because there was a hash (#) in my file path. The files
that were not working were in a folder called ‘c#’ and the hash in the
directory name was causing problems. The problem arises when there is a hash
in any part of the directory path to the CHM file. The problems seems to
arise because the hash character signifies an anchor in HTML so the CHM file
is getting a bit confused as to where to look for the content.
