Opening .chm files on network drive

Dave

Whenever I try to open a .chm file on a mapped network share I receive an
"Action canceled" message. I have added the following to my registry but it
doesn't help. Is there anything else I am supposed to do?

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\HHRestrictions]
"MaxAllowedZone"=dword:00000001

Hi Dave,

Suggestions:

1. Right-click the CHM file, and then click Properties. Click Unblock, and
click OK
2. Add the network share ( \\server ) to the Local intranet zone.

Dave,

Add it here:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions]
"MaxAllowedZone"=dword:00000001

See "Method 2" in the following article:

You cannot open remote content by using the InfoTech protocol after you
install security update 896358, security update 840315, or Windows Server
2003 Service Pack 1:
