Problem with NIC?

Sometimes, when I boot up, I can only get an upload connection, no
download. If I reboot, sometimes I will get the download, sometimes not.
If I uninstall the drivers to the NIC, reboot and let XP install the
drivers, it will come back and stay up until I reboot again. I am
running XP Home and the NIC is on board the motherboard. There is no
room for a PCI NIC due to the video card and the audio card taking up
the space. I have tried loading the drivers from the motherboard's CD
but with those drivers I don't get any connection. Two other computers
that are connected to the same router and cable modem have no problems.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Any updated drivers available on your mobo manu web site?
Any details, on the site, given on bugs cured in bios updates?

It appears that the drivers on the web site are 8 days newer than what I
have. I'll try that and post back.

Thanks,
