Stop XP from re-installing a NIC

Can I stop XP from re-installing a NIC after I delete the drivers?

I have a number of PCs with dual NICs, a Broadcom NetXtreme on the
motherboard,
and an Intel Pro/1000 NIC in a PCI slot. Unfortunately, Ghost doesn't like
the dual
NICs and complains during the install. Ghost tech support wants me to
remove the
Intel NIC, which does solve the problem except that I don't want to open up
50+
brand new machines and remove the NICs.

I have tried disabling the Intel NIC through Control Panel - Network
Connections, removing
it with Device Manager, and disabling it in the BIOS. Ghost still
complains because it sees both NICs.
If I remove the drivers for the Intel NIC, Ghost then installs without
complaining, but upon reboot,
the drivers are reinstalled as XP sees the Intel NIC as 'new hardware'.

I'll remove the NICs if I have to, but I'm hoping there is another solution.

Thanks,

john g
