Problem with New Mail Notifications

Question:

I have added two hotmail accounts to my outlook. So in my Outlook Mail
section I have "Personal Folders", "Hotmail 1", and "Hotmail 2" (because
apparently the first account you add does not take place of the "personal
folders"?) I know that you can only receive new mail notifications for the
default inbox, but is there a way to change my default inbox to the "Hotmail
1" account? That is set as my default account, but I am not receiving new
mail notifications, so I am assuming that it is not set as my default inbox.
I don't know why I'm not receiving the notifications. I have that account
set as default and the right boxes checked under advanced email options.

P.S. I am using Outlook 2003.

As far as I know, there is no way to make an HTTP mail account the default.
