Problem with internet shortcuts on desktop

Richard F

When I double click on a website short cut on the desktop
I get the message "This file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action. Create an
association in the Folder Options control panel".

The short cuts on the desk top are created by right
clicking on the web page and selecting create shortcut.
This places an icon for the website on the desk top.
Previously, double clicking on the icon would take me
straight to the website. Now, I get the above message.
Can someone tell me how to create the required
association for these shortcuts.

Thanks.

Hi Richard,

Open Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options.
From the Programs tab, click 'Reset Web Settings' and close the dialog.

Type REGSVR32 /i SHDOCVW in Start, Run dialog.
