Problem with internet setting?

What IE6 setting could be incorrect to cause this.
When transferring a .csv file the download hangs forcing me to Ctrl-Alt_del
which indicates "transferring file[not responding]".
A file search after aborting finds it usable in C:windows\temp\temporary
internet files\content.IE5\89abcde3 and it is named PFM download[1}.csv
Clicking on it there opens it correctly in Excel.
The same download using NS 4.8 completes the download and opens the file in
Excel as per file associations.
Thank you
Going crazy "short trip"

Regretfully I cannot shed much light on that except for my original post.
While viewing a table of stock prices on a https etrade site I am simply
given the choice to "download file". After that its all out of my control.

How are you "transferring a .csv file"?

Are you importing it? Into what? From where?
