i am experiencing a weird problem with IE6 on XP Pro x86 ... when i access
internet content that requires temporary storage in the Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\ dir i get errors ... i did a search for the Content.IE5
dir and found it, it is there but for some reason temp files such as when i
stream media can not be found ... the error i get is as follows:

E:\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WHUNKXQR\filename.mp4
Application not found

any ideas?

thank you!

Hi,

Does it help to empty the cache?

IE, Tools, Options, Delete files.

Kind regards

hi i emptied cache ... i have moved the folder to various places and
different physical drives and partitions ... nothing helps ... this is very
annoying as such apps as Win Media Player, Acrobat Reader use Content.IE5
dir for temp storage ... what a bummer!

Check if you have an association with that extension?
E.g. Run... (press Win-R and enter:) control folders
Click on Filetypes tab and look for extension MP4.
Do you have one? What does it say about it in Details for...?
Notice your options there. In particular Advanced, Edit...
may be pointing at a file which you have deleted or moved.
Etc.

thank you!
