Problem with IE with multiple logons

I'm quite new to XP (just got a new PC and am running XP Home Edition). I have
two logons, one for me and one for my partner. If I leave Internet Explorer
open under my logon, she is unable to open or run it under her logon. She gets
a runtime error coming from Visual C++!! Is there any way to allow me to
leave my copy of IE running and allow her to be able to run it under her
logon?

Another thing that happened was when I plugged my digital camera into the USB
slot and it fired up the camera's software, later when she came to login
(and i
had closed everything) she found the same bit of software had fired up under
her logon (when she was at the logon screen she was surprised to see "1
program
running").

cheers

I had the same issue. Are you running McAfee Security Center? If so, there
is an issue with McApfBHO.dll (McAfee's anti-phising daemon) that causes this
issue. Download the shareware called BHO daemon from here:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3550.html. Disable this BHO and you're set.

I've noticed the same behavior w/ various USB devices launching dialog boxes
under all users, logged in or not, but as long as it doesn't crash my system
I'm happy. Chalk up another screw up to Microsoft!
