Problem with deleting

C

Craig

Hi,

Once in a while, I am getting following error when I tried to delete
file(s) or a folder:

Cannot delete xxxxxx : It is being used by another person or programs.

Nobody is using any program. I tried to delete them soon after rebooting
but I get the same error.
There is no way to delete these files/folders.

I am wondering what could be the problem and how I can delete those.

Hi

Try the deletion(s) either via a command prompt or Safe Mode.

Try to take the ownership of the file/folder and try to delete it in safe
mode.
How to take the ownership of a file/folder:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421

If you still struggle with it, try and download this tool:
http://www.ccleaner.com
Be careful while using this tool, read the help file with it then try to use
and you can use for other useful feature to clean up the temp and remove
spywares...etc.
HTH.
Let us know.

I deleted by Safe Mode.
My other question was what causes this deletion problem.

While trying to clean with CCleaner (1.37.456), I am getting this kind of
error:

Cannot remove folder Dc14: It is being use by another person or program.

Dc folder is new to me. Should this be removed via Safe Mode?

Could you please explain what Dc folder is about? TIA.

Yes you can do or Run the Disk CleanUp on your computer and then Reboot and
see if the file still exist.
Also John give a good link on how to repair the Recycle bin, if your recycle
bin been damaged or corrupted.
Also be sure you did not configured a third-party software to Disallow
deletion or changes on your computer.
HTH.
