Fabio

I have a server Win2003 (domain "PIPPO.local")
that runnig fax server. I can send and receive fax from this server
PC.
But when I try to send a fax from PC client (XP home or professional
edition with SP1) I receive this message after wizard starts:
"Fax server information cannot be retrieved. The fax wizard will close
now." All pc clients are not members of a domain but of workgroup
"PIPPO".

All other server applications work fine (file server, printer server)
on the PC clients.

I think that this is a permission right problem but I am newbie about
permission, can anybody help me ?

Kind regards,

Fabio

Fax Service uses a secure channel to communicate between client and server
and hence the communication will fail if the client and server are not in
trusted domains. So for the connection to succeed you should have one of the
following configurations:-

1. Client and server are in the same trusted domain.
2. Client and server are in workgroup and both have a common user with the
same password.

In your case the client is in workgroup while your server is in domain.
Hence this configuration will not work.

Thanks,
Chandra
