Hello everybody,

Although it's not a major issue, the following problem bothers me :

When I insert a new blank CD in my CD Drive, nothing happens. Before,
Windows opened a box where I could select the application to run to burn the
CD, such as Roxio Easy CD Creator. As a result I must now go to "Start" in
order to launch that particular software.

I cannot relate this phenomenon with anything I could have done. I didn't
install any new software.

Now, this happens only when I insert a new CD. If I insert an audio CD or a
CD RW, or a CD withy data on it, everything is OK.

Is there anything I should Try or check ?
Anybody ?

Many thanks in advance for your kind help.
Best regards,
Daniel

1. Click on My Computer
2. Right click on the CD rom drive you are having trouble wit
3. Go to propertie
4. Then go to Autopla
5. In the drop down menu make it to 'blank cd
6. Change it to what you want

Hello Peterbilt,

Many thanks for your message. Actually I did what you suggested, to no
avail. Whether I choose to launch automatically CD Creator or let Windows
propose a choice of applications, it makes no difference.

Well, thanks all the same. All other suggestions are welcome.
Best regards,
Daniel

Go to My Computer, r-click the drive; Properties - Autoplay and select
'Blank Disk'. Use the Select, choose to open in whatever application
(eg to 'Create CD in Roxio Easy CD') and click Apply

I tend to approach it the other way round though - run Easy CD from a
desktop icon or otherwise, and when it comes to the point of wanting to
burn, provide it with a disk to find for itself

Hello Alex,

Many thanks for your message and advice.

I tried to do that to no avail : whether I select the application to run or
choose Windows to prompt me, there is no change, nothing happens when I
insert a blank CD. It used to work fine though. I just don't know what I
could have done to generate this problem.

So I have done what you suggested and created an Easy CD creator on the
desktop.

Tks again and best regards,
daniel

My problem is that when I put a blank CD in, imapi service
dies without a trace. I have set the autoplay to prompt
and nothing happens. When I change autoplay to burn with
RealOne, nothing happens. When set to open folder, nothing
happens.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
