Problem with accessing email addresses

I recently downloaded the SP3 for Office 2002, and since
then have had problems with the email security feature of
Outlook. Now, whether I am creating a new email or
responding to a received email, I get a flag-screen
telling me that a program is trying to access email
addresses stored in Outlook and asking me if that's what
I want.

I can't figure out where in the Options to TURN OFF this
feature, or at least not have it pop up in Outlook itself.

Normal behavior. You may be able to get around the problem by either
disabling Word as
your e-mail editor or updating some of your add-ins, especially virus

This isn't a behavior that adds anything to the
convenience of email, that's for sure. Seems like one of
those bugs that developers insist is really a "feature."
Who would click on "Reply" and then have to click again
to confirm that he or she really wants to reply?

And isn't the biggest selling point of Outlook its
integration with MS Word. Why would I want to disable
the key integration?

Didn't you read the explanation? It's not a bug at all. These are the
security updates that have become necessary and are incorporated into all
version of Outlook.
