hi, hope someone can help. when i view any videos full screen from
youtube.com i have no 'close' button on the pop out full screen and i have to
manually close it from the task manager. this happened to me a few months
back but i was able to fix the problem by reloading the IE 6 browser. a few
weeks ago i had to install a program along with MS Framework 2.0 and that
caused this problem to happen again. I have since removed that program and
the framework files from my compuer, and i also reloaded the browser again to
correct the full screen problem. it has not worked this time and i am asking
for help. anyone that can help me please offer your advice. Thanks much in
advance!

When you click the full-screen button on the "normal"-sized YouTube video
player, it opens full-screen in a new window. You should be able to close
that window by right clicking that window's taskbar icon (usually at the
bottom of your screen).

In full-screen, does that window have the minimize and resize buttons in the
title bar - just no "X" close button?

Hi Jon
Thanks for taking the time to reply and try to help me with this. You are
correct, the full-screen is a new window, however when I right click it opens
all the way and covers the taskbar and does not give me the option to close
it. The new full screen has no title bar or anything at the top, just the
video screen and the progress bar at the bottom and 2 "resizing" buttons to
the lower right corner. That lower right corner was where the "close" button
used to appear before this mess up.

Hope this helps you to understand more.

See if hitting the "Esc" (escape) key gets you out of that full-screen
window.

What screen resolution are you using? (Rt. click an empty area on your
desktop, click Properties, then the Settings tab.) Try kicking it up a
notch.

Do you have Apple's QuickTime installed?

YouTube's videos are served up using Flash. Uninstall Flash and reinstall.

instructions

Download the latest version here, making sure you uncheck the box by the
Yahoo toolbar option -

Make sure QuickTime is not your default Flash player -

Open QuickTime Player.
Click "Edit" in the menu bar.
Click "Preferences," then click "QuickTime Preferences."
Click the "Browser" tab.
Click "MIME Settings."
In the "MIME Types" box, make sure the "Miscellaneous" option is unchecked.
Click "OK," "Apply," and "OK." Restart your computer.

I told you how to check on that - scroll down a bit on my previous post?
Here it is again:

Open QuickTime Player.
Click "Edit" in the menu bar.
Click "Preferences," then click "QuickTime Preferences."
Click the "Browser" tab.
Click "MIME Settings."
In the "MIME Types" box, make sure the "Miscellaneous" option is unchecked.
Click "OK," "Apply," and "OK." Restart your computer.
