PROBLEM when attempting to 2000 - REALLY need help!

I am attempting to upgrade from Me to 2000.

During setup, I made it to the windows site, where it
allowed me to download upgrade packs. I got one that had
W95UPG.DLL in it.

I receive the following error message when attempting to
run the upgrade after downloading the upgrade pack.

"The option to upgrade will not be available at this time
because Setup was unable to load the file
C:\Windows\UpgDlls\w95upg.dll\WIN9XUPG\W95UPG.DLL"

I then am unable to upgrade. I am only given the option to
run a clean install.

Please give any advice!

E - you cannot upgrade ME-->W2k. Technically impossible. ME is a later
OS than W2k, and the W2k CD doesn't know what to do with what it finds
on the ME partition.

And once you've "sort of" gone through that "upgrade" neither ME nor W2k
will run, and you must do a clean install of one or the other to have a
useful PC again.

Horrible news, but there it is. Good luck...
