Problem W2K filesharing

M

Micky

I have a desktop and a portable both running Win2000, that
are connected via a wireless router (DLink DI624). Both

computers are set in the same workgroup AF.

I can ping from both PC's to each other and to the router,
and File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is
installed on

both PC's . But still I can not access the workgroup on
the other PC:

- on the laptop: if I choose via Explorer My Network Places
Entire Network > Microsoft Windows Network, I will see an
icon

for the workgroup but when I click it, I get following
error message:
"AF is not accessible. The list of servers for this
workgroup is not currently available".

- on the desktop: if I choose via Explorer My Network
Places > Entire Network > Microsoft Windows Network en I
click the

workgroup icon, I can see the laptop (af02) but when
clicking this, I get following error message:
\\AF02 is not accessible. The network path can not be found.

Because of these errors I can not share any folders or
printers (which have been set as Shared).
How can I solve this?

try and map a drive from the cmd prompt

net use * \\server\share

for server, insert the computer name, and for share insert the share name.
The * just says take the next drive letter.

Make sure that you have a like username/password on each system. Let us know
the error message from the cmd prompt if it fails. :)
