Problem Starting Outlook

I have Office 2003 installed on my college supplied laptop with Windows XP
Pro (SP2). I have Outlook configured to work with my MS Exchange school
email. Everything works fine when I'm at school, plugged into their network.
However when I'm at home connected to my home’s broadband connection and try
to start Outlook I get a dialog box that says "Your Microsoft Exchange Server
is unavailable." and I can select "Retry", "Work Offline" or "Cancel". When I
click Work Offline, I get another dialog box that says, "Cannot start
Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The set of
folders could not be opened." This is really frustrating because I can't read
my email that I have in my personal folders. I sometimes need to read my
archived email at home (especially those from my professors!). Any help on
how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You'll need to check with your School on how to configure Outlook to connect
to Exchange when you are at home (or if you can). Outlook 2003 can use rpc
over http. You might need to establish a VPN connection.
When at school. copy your email and other required items to a Personal
folders file and open that file when at home. You might like to add a new
profile to Outlook via the Mail icon in Control Panel and have Outlook
prompt for which profile to use. When at home with no connection to Exchange
use a different profile with a POP3 or IMAP account.
