Problem sharing from XP back to Vista with Virtual PC

I can transfer files over to XP from Vista OK, but then when I try to copy
them back I get the warning that the disk is full, but all folders on Vista
are Shared.
I even tried using the Public Folders, but got the same warning.

I managed to transfer to a USB memory stick after unplugging & re-plugging
it from within Virtual PC, but there must be a way to share back to Vista.
What am I missing here???

Hmm... not sure I understand what it is you're trying to do here... Where's
XP? Where's Vista? How does Virtual PC fit into the scenario?

Lang, I have a Vista 64 bit computer, so I'm have Virtual PC with XP running
in it, in order to use a couple of 32 bit programs that won't behave
properly on Vista 64 bit. eg Dreamweaver 8 (refuses to save ftp settings) and
several others.

I can copy the files over to XP to work on, but then I can't copy them back
to Vista again to backup, as per what I said above.

I have to figure this out in the next couple of days, or will have to pull
the plug on 64 bit and switch back to 32 bit, which means a reinstall of
everything and a lot of lost work time. But I can't continue working in XP,
if I have no way of getting the files backed up to my "real hard drive".

At least with the websites I can ftp the stuff up to the server, but I'd
prefer to have them saved to my hard drive in Vista as well.

all suggestions gratefully received :)

Have you set up Shared Folders in VPC? With your VM running, go to
Settings, Shared Folders, and you can map a folder from your host OS. It
will appear in 'My Computer' in your guest.

Thx Jane ... I think I was going about it the wrong way before, trying to
copy files back into Vista via the Windows Explorer folders - the same way I
used to get them to Virtual XP in the first place.

I back-tracked through the steps using your instructions & realised I should
be using the Shared Drive in My Computer. It took a while but the penny
suddenly dropped ... presto!!!

You've saved me countless hours of work ... many many thanks :)
