Vista sharing too much

My home network of 1-Vista Premium and 2-XP Home computers is working well
and all computers are communicating and sharing folders and printers with
each other. The XP computers primarily share using $-share names. My only
problem now is that Vista is allowing the XP computers to see way to much -
they can see everything.

I have 2 users defined on the Vista computer - let's call them user ABC and
DEF. When I look at the Vista computer from the XP computers via Network
Places, I see Users\ABC and Users\DEF. I have full access to everything
within those user's folders.

When I look at C:\Users on the Vista computer, it looks like a share at the
Users level, consequently giving full access to all information within the
Users folder to all remote computers. What can I do so Vista will share
folders like the XP computers - namely, only share folders that I choose to
share and not share everything? Thank you for your help.

When I look at the sharing parameters for the Users folder's, sharing is
with Everyone and Administrators. Within the C:\Users folder, I can see
folders for users ABC, DEF and Public. ABC and DEF are not shared. The
Public folder is shared. Again, I can see all of the folders and files
within all of these folders. I think I want to turn off general sharing at
the Users level which in-turn will turn it off for users ABC and DEF and
leave the Public folder shared as-is. Then, I would like to share specific
folders and files within the ABC and DEF user folders. I would really
appreciate it if someone can tell me how to do this. Thank you.

Thank you Saucy for your reply. I figured out what's going on. The reason
the XP computers can see everything within the Vista User folder is because
they have the same user name and passwords as the Vista computer. I changed
them on one of the XP computers and was shown a log-in screen asking for a
user name and password when I tried to access the Vista Users folder.
That's okay. My main concern was a house guest seeing the same thing if
they were using our wireless access to the internet. Thanks again for your
help
