problem installing plug-and-play devices

When I try to install a plug-and-play device my system starts looking for
drivers and then says it can't find them.

Anyone out there who can help?

| services it provides and resources it requires, identify the driver
| that supports it, and allow software to configure it.

Your Plug&Play device does not match these requirements and/or needs
an additional OEM Plug&Play driver to be installed, most likely.

I went to device manager
double clicked on item
reinstall driver
specify location
browse
drive c
windows
inf

click ok

drivers installed from inf file - success
