problem installing new microsoft keyboard on xp sp2

I had Microsoft keyboard , with intellitype pro software that run
great.
the keyboard stop working one day.
I got new Microsoft keyboard instead.
Digital media keyboard 3000.
I plug it in (usb). and it was working.
I notice not all the extra keys functioning. so i try to install the
new version (recommended 6.20) of Intellitype pro.
BUT en *error message prevent me from completing the installation.
I uninstalled the old , and try to install the new , same *error. i
tried to install the old ,
same *error.
Now I stack with Microsoft keyboard , with no extra keys functioning
at all !
* the error message:
Setup cannot install this software because your computer does not meet
the system
requirements. To install this software, you must have a computer
running Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000 SP4. For additional
system requirements and compatibility information, see the product
packaging or the Microsoft Hardware Web site.
Need not to say I have XP SP2.

No mention of my problem anywhere in the internet.
version 6.2 is the recommended ver for this keyboard , as per
microsoft website.

Help please
