Problem installing HP CD Writer

What software and version of the software are you trying to install?

When i try to install HP CD writer in my Pc (windows XP proffessional) the
system gives the warning that it is not safe. And if u install ignoring the
error message then system disable the writer to perform.

Which specific model, and how is it connected? An internal IDE one
should need *no* drivers installed; a SCSI one only the drivers for the
SCSI adapter card involved. But if it came with burning software, that
may well be unsuitable for XP,. You would need say Easy CD Creator 5
(though within limits 4.05 of it can be use provided you do *not*
install Direct CD or Take Two) or Nero 5.5

But for an HP drive I would go to the HP site and get the free RecordNow
(a lite version but very usable) and the DLA (like Direct CD) -
