PROBLEM DOWNLOADING WIN XP SP 1

I GET TO DOWNLOAD PROCESS AND IT APPEARS TO COMPLETE
DOWNLOAD BUT NEVER STARTS INSTALLATION, JUST STOPS WITH
DOWNLOAD STATUS BOX FILLED. I TURNED OFF VIRUS PROGRAMS
BEFORE I STARTED. PLEASE HELP

Are you using AOL as your ISP?

Try the following solution from the Windows Update Troubleshooter:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/

Select:
"Problem Downloading/Installing a Software (Non-Driver) item"

Follow steps under:
"Install stops at 0% when using the AOL Browser"

You need to minimize your AOL browser and use
Internet Explorer when visiting Windows Update.
