Problem copying notes - has not been answered

This is really getting frustrating. I'm asking the question again.

When I try to copy the notes in the Notes folder to another folder by
selecting all notes, copying it and then pasting it to new folder, I
get the following message:

"Creating a new item from the selected items could take some time. Are
you sure you want to create a new item from these 292 items?"

When I click Yes, i get the message:

"Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and
try again."

I closed everything except outlook, tried it again and i get the same
message.

Questions:
1. Why does this happen?
2. What is the best way to copy notes to another folder when you have
more than 50 notes?

I just want to move back my notes which I backed up to a pst to the new
default outlook file. (Incidentally the reason I'm doing this is that
I've been having problems syncing notes and one solution was to backup
existing notes, erase them and move backup back.)

Outlook has been a product for so many years I cannot believe it's
still so buggy I want to throw my laptop and sue Microsoft and get my
money back.

Thanks.

PS:
Outlook 2003 SP1
I tried the list view and not icons view
I am SURE I'm copying it from a Notes type of folder to a Notes type of
folder.
I can copy whole folders but I want to put my notes backup to the
default notes folder.
All other items I can copy item per item no problem. Notes I cannot.

It looks like it's trying to create a single note item with the 292 notes
attached to it. If you drag/drop the items from one folder to the other,
what happens?

\> Questions:
1. Why does this happen?

Most likely because you are moving them from an ANSI (old format) pst to the
new Unicode format pst. Do you have the latest updates? See Help, About - if
not, go to Help, Check for updates and install them. (You should seriously
consider using Windows update to keep Office updated.)
2. What is the best way to copy notes to another folder when you have
more than 50 notes?

If the latest update doesn't help, can you drop smaller numbers of notes
into the folder? And you are dropping them into Notes folders, not Mail or
other types? Can you drag the folder full of notes into the new folder? Then
drag them into the default folder and delete the old folder?

Interesting. I don't know that it will make a difference. Scanpst would
probably have the same effect as a new pst. Are you using ActiveSync or
other sync software?

this is what i did. view notes as list. select all. copy. paste. (from
a notes folder in a pst to the default notes folder)

The reason why i'm doing this? Well because activesync for some reason
suddenly fails to synch my notes. I have uninstalled outlook,
activesync, hard reset my PC and just about did everything save throw
my pc and ppc out of the window.

1. Both are new formats
2. I can copy/move smaller number of notes but not all of it. it's a
notes to a notes folder.

Select some, hold the mouse button and drag... does it work better than copy
and paste? what if you drag the folder from the pst to the default notes
folder - does it make a subfolder? Can you drag from that to the default
folder?
