Probelm with Windows Logo test

Hello, whenever I attempt to download directx 9.0b from microsoft's webpage, it all goes fine untill installation. Then I get a message saying "The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compat
bility with Windows XPThis software will not be installed. Contact your system administrator." and then it forces me to stop installing. Any ideas? This is really pissing me off, because I need directx 9.0b. For some reason it worked fine on my brother's computer... What about reinstalling XP?
