I have "googled" & checked the MS KB and even asked a ng, all with no fix
for this problem.
Suddenly, I no longer have a choice as to how to save images. Gifs/jpegs
can only be saved as bitmap images.

I tried cleaning my TIF & offline content from both IE 6.0 and from the
desktop w/o any good results.

Does anyone have any ideas?
I guess I could do a system restore far enough back to when it was working
OK? But then what would that do to my installed SP2 that I did a couple
days ago?

Win XP Home SP2
IE/OE 6

Thank you

That happens when the Temporary Internet Files are too full. In IE click
Tools | Internet Options. Click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet
files section of the General tab. On the next window place a check mark in
the box to Delete all offline content.

Frank.....

I've done that, plus gone into all TIF folders on my h/d and cleaned them
out from there, but I still have the problem of everything saving as a
bitmap.

Did you empty your recycle bin following the deletions?
