Printing w/out Background

I have used a template to design my PP slideshow that has a dark green
background. I have tried everything I can to attempt to print out handouts
without any of the background showing and I cannot get it to work. I have
checked the omit background box but it turns the entire slideshow white,
including my text. I have tried switching between printing in black & white
and greyscale...but this too hasn't helped. Any suggestions on how to print
a true black & white handout with no background whatsoever? I'm going crazy
trying to figure it out on my own.

I'm using Powerpoint 2002

I'm using Powerpoint 2002

Go to View/Master/Slide Master. Then go to View/Black and White or
View/Grayscale. Right-click the background objects and choose B/W Settings.
Choose "don't show" or "white." This will change the B/W settings for the
objects, but it won't affect the color version at all.

This should drop out your background, but if it makes your text all
disappear, then you've probably got a fairly significant color scheme issue
in the file itself -- I'm guessing that you've used the same color swatch
for the text and for the slide background (probably white or something
light) in Format/Background, but you've put an autoshape on the slide master
and filled it with green so the text shows up. You can read up on color
schemes and how they affect when colors change and when they don't at
http://www.echosvoice.com/colorschemes.htm .

At this point, though, it may be easier to just change the B/W settings on
your text as necessary. In Normal (edit) View, choose View/Black and White
or View/Grayscale, right-click the textbox, choose B/W Settings, and change
those as necessary also.
