Printing problems

Windows update installed IE 8 on my PC recently. I have two printers (both
USB)one is a Canon Ip5200 Pixma; the other a Canon Laser Shot LBP1120. The
Pixma is the "default" printer. When I try to print from some (not all)
programs including Notepad, using the Laser printer it does not work. An
error message appears saying Data Prevention Execution has closed the
relevant program. I have gone into Data Prevention Execution and checked the
programs to be ignored; but they still won't work printing on the Laser (they
work ok on the Pixma). Can anybody suggest the problem and a cure please?

Out of curiosity: What did Canon Support say when you contacted them
about the problem? My experience with Canon support has found them to be
cheerful and helpful.

Well I am not sure where the issue lies. Probably the most comprehensive way
of course but time consuming is to contact Microsoft first did it work on
IE7? inquire about IE 8, some I have heard still have some issues with IE 8
and then contact Canon.
Good Luck,
