Printing Problem in Domain Environment

I have a domain environment setup with a server running Server 2003 SBS.
There are network printers, and a printer attached to one of the desktops
(which is shared - Lexmark).

What's happening is when a user logins in to their machine for the day they
can print without problems to the Lexmark (and all printers for that matter).
If they don't print for a while and go to print (to the Lexmark), it says
they can't - and they cannot log into the computer hosting the printer (via
network connections - yet their domain username and password is setup to, but
wont let them). They can still print to the network printers.

Any ideas of the problem/solution?

Thanks

The spoolers have probably stopped.
Go to: Start>Run>type NET START SPOOLER and click OK.

I've had a look at the machines when the problem appears and the print
spooler is still running, and I still type in NET START SPOOLER in CMD and it
says it is already running.

Any other suggestions?
