Printing error with share printer

Dear Guys,
I have a win98 machine which share printer, and my xp pro always having
problem to print to this printer. it is slow whenever i switch over the
printer. anyone can help..

Please explain what you mean by 'switch over' the printer.

Hi Cari,
it mean when select the printer from word/excel doc i want to print it is
very slow process, and most of the time i cant print it.

Presumably it's connected to the Win98 PC on a USB 1.1 port...... is this
something that just happened or has it always been like this? Does the
network run at 'normal' speed?

Yup the network is ok normal speed, no problem, i feel like some authorise
problem so that i share it from my 2003 server and give everyone full
permission, but i found that when i do this my user can switch the printer
like normal, but it dont print anything to the printer until i print
something from my server.
