Printing Ballon

T

Trevor

I just installed a new printer on my XP home PC and now everytime I print
something, a ballon pops up n the system tray telling me that the document
printed. This never happened with my old printer. It would show the icon that
is was printing but not the balloon.
Any suggestions as to remove or stop this from happening.

Thanks

Well Trevor, you've kept the make & model of your new printer secret, which
makes helping you a bit more difficult.
Usually, if you go into your printer software configuration (or Settings)
you will have the option there to switch the offending balloon off.

Look in the Printer Settings or elsewhere in the HP Director control
panel for an option to turn off the alert.

Trevor,
I've had a look through the 111 pages in the user manual (online) and there
appears to be no reference to this 'Balloon Message'.
Maybe a brief email request to Lexmark customer services would be the
quickest way.

check the help file or any documentation that came with your printer.

It has nothing to do with the printer.
Here's the answer:

If you are using the default view, from the Start menu, select Control
Panel. Click Printer and Other Hardware, and then click the Printers and
Faxes icon.
If you are using the Classic View, from the Start menu, select Settings
and then Control Panel. Click the Printers and Faxes icon.

In the Printers and Faxes window, from the File menu, select Server
Properties.

Click the Advanced tab, and then check or uncheck the checkbox next to
Notify when remote documents are printed to either enable or disable the
printing notification.

Click OK to save the changes, and then close the dialog box.

Good luck.
