Printers disapeared

I am connecting to both network and local printers. Quite offten my printers
disapeared and I have to reboot to get them back and when it happens I can't
add a printer either unless I reboot. This happens with xp and 2k machines.
Does anybody knows what is causing my printers to disapear.Not sure if there
is a corrupted files somewhere causing it to happen.

Any help will be greatly apreciated
 
Check in the Device Manager if the NIC and the USB ports are set to go into
standby to save power if not being used. If they are, uncheck this option.

Thanks for your suggestion but I check that but standby is unchecked for
both USB and NIC. It is very strange. Any other suggetion.
