Printers all gone: can not add

M

MG.

Hello to all. My daughter's PC has lost all of the printers, local and
network in the Control Panel|Printers Folder. I tried adding the printer
via the Add Printer Wizard and I got an "Operation Could Not be Completed"
box immediately. I checked the MS KB and came up with the Spooler Services
not starting issue, but that won't work. When I attempt to start the
service, I get the following message:
"Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start" and the
print spooler status is "Stopped"
I searched for that error message but came up empty, so here I am.
There were 2 network printers in addition to the local printer installed
and now they have all vanished.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance and regards,
Morey G

The printers will not show up if the print spooler service isn't running.
The only service that it depends on is the RPC Service...I doubt that is not
running, since almost every service depends on it...
