Printer spooler

R

Richard

I changed my DSL hook up from SDSL to ADSL this morning.

Afterwards my printer would not print, it goes threw a Jet
Direct Box.

I called Company computer support, since I could not print
their
documents. They had me try to change my IP address. It
would not change.
They then had me to delete the IP port. could not
reinstall a new port. There next statement was that the
computer was a local problem, not theres.

Now I get a program error box.
Spoolsv.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
windows. you will
need to restart the program. an error log is being created.

i go into run; cmd; net start spooler
it starts then stops immediately with this message.
I tried to repair win 2000 with the CD. It had me make 4
start up boot
disks. I have been threw them and it did not repair the
computer.

What is my next move?

Thank you

Richard

Did you have to install any software to make this SDSL to ADSL transistion?
Have you tried (re)installing Windows 2000 service pack 4?

I did not have to install any software.
I ran 2000 recovery, it did not correct the problem. It
looks like it did make my IE 6 go back to IE 5.
I will try to find the service pack 4.

I had a similiar problem. Found something at MS Knowledge base that
helped...try searching there. I had to uninstall my printers, then the
printer drivers, then change something in registry. Reinstalled printers and
all was fine.

I installed service pack 4, that did not help, PLUS now my
Outlook express will not run. I get a window that pops
open and says something to the effect that msn.... has a
problem and the program has to shut down.
