printer spooler and rpc error

i ahve been unsucessful in installin a new printer. when the auto run starts
the install it prompts that the printer spooler is not running, press ok to
run. after pressing ok the program doent do anything else as if it exited out
completely. lexmark customer care walked me through the command prompt to
execute the printer spooler, after it starts the spooler when i reinstert the
install disk the same printer spooler not running error message appears
again., also it will not let me restart the printer spooler. the spyware and
virus protection were both turned off with the same end result..... any help
would be appreciated!!!
