printer sharing status grayed out

a printer that had been enabled for sharing is now grayed out when I right
click the printer and go to the 'sharing' pane. any ideas on what changed?
running XP SP3.

You don't have admin rights to the printer.

Are the Advanced settings enabled?

If you are still admin on the printer is network sharing enabled?
