Printer Problems

First off let me tell you my Printer is an Compaq IJ650 and I use Windows
XP. I was printing something from my Task Launcher and a page printed fine
but then I went to print the same page again and I noticed the light flashing
green in the spot where there usually is a paper jam. Let me tell you that
there was no paper jam. I tried unplugging from the back of the tower, did
not shut off or change. I went through control panel and saw that it said
offline so I switched to online, still nothing changed. I clicked on the
computer icon in the taskbar and where the box pops up to tell you how many
pages are printing it said error. I have tried restarting my computer and
even shut off my computer and yet the printer stayed on when it normally
should have turned off. The only way I could turn the printer off was by
unplugging from outlet. Also while the light was flashing it was making a
ticking noise as well. Hope you can help.

Does this help? http://tinyurl.com/9e4e4
This http://tinyurl.com/cuxpa suggests that the "ticking noise" may mean
bad news, but you don't say that you pulled any paper out, so you're
probably OK.
